Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career shortly after taking a class at Stanford University. Early successes in the field of critical success included roles in films such as Pleasantville and Election but it was her portrayal of Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a pivotal moment in her professional career. Her role on Walk the Line earned her an Academy Award nomination in 2005. Water for Elephants This Means War was one of her most recent movies she was a part of. It also received her another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon was also an accomplished TV producer as well as the star of David E. Kelley's award winning TV show Big Little Lies. Witherspoon was the child of a physician and nurse. Her birth was to Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon March 22nd, 1976 in New Orleans Louisiana. In the early 2000s, she began her career, playing small parts on television. Her movie debut with the comedy The Invisible Man. Later, she starred in TV shows such as House of Lies Whitney & Better Call Saul. Also, she was a character in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). She is a talented painter and artist in along with being an accomplished actress.
